In this type of tooling a second operation is required. In this type of tooling two materials are injected into two different areas of the tool. Then the tool opens and a robot will pick the parts and transfer them in the same tool but in a different cavity where the second material is moulded around it. (eg. Rear tail light lens where the red is moulded around the clear plastic.)
